Dr. Archibald Tapuwa James Gumiro is A director of Amari Group of companies and Africa executive director for Sanitopia CIC he is a distinguished expert in international and economic development, renowned for his extensive experience and impactful contributions across various sectors. He began his career as a research fellow at the Southern Africa Foundation for Economic Research (SAFER), where he honed his analytical skills and deepened his understanding of economic dynamics in the region.
Dr. Gumiro’s career trajectory took him to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was seconded to both SAFER and the Zimbabwe AIDS Network. His commitment to public health and development led him to work with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations (UN) for several years, during which he gained invaluable experience in countries such as Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, the USA, and the UK.
In addition to his expertise in international development, Dr. Gumiro is a qualified medical doctor, which further enriches his perspective on health-related issues and their intersection with economic development.
